Fold, Staple, Mutilate (FSM)

This is the monthly work party where we make the "dead tree edition" of Much Ado About Mensa (MAAM), our award-winning newsletter. All FSM's are held at the same place, a home, on the fourth Saturday evening of each month.

What happens at an FSM? We get together at 6 pm. First, we eat. Since FSM is a work party, GPM arranges the home-coked meal. You don't have to bring anything, unless there is something special you want to share with everyone. Then the folding and stapling begins. Each issue of MAAM starts as boxes of printed pages. We must collate the pages into issues, fold each one down the middle, staple it to hold it together, attach a mailing label to each copy, then bundle and sort the labeled copies into US Mail sacks. Depending on the size of the crew we can put together, this should take us about three hours.

FSM is currently held at the home of Pat Hull, just off Marconi Avenue near Greenway and 35th Avenue. If you want to be part of FSM, call Pat at the number given in the Contact Us list.
