Salon

The Salon is a casual, festive house party held at one of our members' homes the third Saturday of each month. Although any Mensan can volunteer to host a Salon, there are a few hosts who tend to hold most of the Salons. GPM is always open to new Salon hosts. If you have an entertainment area that can hold 25 people, you can host a Salon. In the summer months, most Salons are at homes with a pool or spa, and there is an outdoors focus. During the "eating season" in the latter part of the year, barbecues and holiday themes are popular. The November Salon is always a Thanksgiving potluck feast, and the December Salon is held on New Year Eve.

You may notice that Salon entries in the Calendar are accompanied by runic codes. These advise you of special conditions that this month's host wants to alert you to:

C - Cats live indoors
D - Dogs live indoors
NS - No smoking anywhere
S - Smoking indoors
SO - Smoking outdoors
WA - Wheelchair access
