From the Dungeon

by Ted Elzinga, Far West Regional Vice Chairman

The RG for this month is Harbor Area Mensa's MENSAZOIC, A Jurassic Lark. This RG will happen on April 18-20 and should be very interesting. Last year was HAM's first RG and it was well done. They had a small group, but the registrants were some of the most friendly and dedicated RG goers. This year promises to be even more of the same.

Also in April the AMC will be meeting in Denver. We should be discussing and taking some action on the plan for Mensa's new, permanent home. Your LoSecs and editors will have a copy of the agenda. Contact them if you want to provide some input on AMC deliberations.

As you all know by this time, the AG will be held over the Fourth of July weekend in Birmingham, Alabama. One of the AG traditions in recent years is the MERF Auction. They are looking for donations of RG registrations and any other valuable items. You can contact me or someone else who will be attending if you or your group would like to become involved in helping MERF make this auction a success.

I am sorry to report that Gregor (Mac) MacLennan, the editor of Hawaii Mensa's newsletter, Mensaloha, has died and Hawaii is again without an editor. Our sympathy goes out to Mary Ann, Mac's widow.

My final news item is more bad news. Our Executive Director, Gaye Rundberg, has resigned and we now have to look for someone to replace her. Gaye had worked for us only six months through a very trying time of computer conversion when there were many problems in the national office. We may never know all of her reasons for leaving but suffice it to say that Mensa is not an easy organization to work for.
