Joining Mensa was in part an ego trip and that need has been fulfilled. However, I also expected that my fellow Mensans would devote at least some of their intelligence to solving the problems of the day such as Doctor Assisted Suicide, Affirmative Action, The War on Drugs, and How to Handle the Ethically Challenged (Lawyers).

Instead I find in the Mensa Bulletin travelogues and endless drivel on the sound of one hand clapping and the existence of God. Then there are the SIGs, including Chocoholics, Headbanger, Outhouse, and Tarot. I have written articles on "the problems of the day" for the Phoenix Newsletter but get very little feedback.

Yes, fun and games are great part of the time but I want more out of Mensa than full time mental masturbation. Therefore, I am not renewing my membership.
