Half an hour into the event and no Jim Vogler had shown up. This was going to be a shoo-in; I was rushing everyone through so that we could all get out of there before Jim turned up. Then my English motorcycle racing buddy Andrew turns up. I know Andrew's pretty good, but worse still the delay is long enough for Jim to arrive too. Now the pressure is really on. After a few laps, the track marshall tips me off as to the fastest car and gives a little advice on my lousy line on the main curve. A change of car, a better line and lots of luck and I finally made an honest first for once.
Again everyone turned very respectable times. We had lots of fun and great post race conversation at the Coffee Plantation.
