A Few Words From The RG Chair:

By Bill Rouse

First, thanks to everyone who has already registered (over 30 as of the end of October!). Be sure to make those hotel reservations NOW, as the middle of January is a popular time for the snow birds to mob the hotels. The RG planning is coming along just fine, thanks to the helpful people of Mensa who make things happen. A special thanks to Carol Young, who has done a lot of the front-end work in hotel negotiations, etc., and to Mel Anderson, who is our master of hospitality. In addition to the illustrious Richard Lederer, we have some great preliminary programs planned: Belly dancing, Liars' Club, Magic for the Masses, "Electro Man", a cacti seminar, martial arts, beer brewing, a chiropractor for some professional advice, a full-time connection to the Internet via Robert Andrews and Web TV, and many other tantalizing programs in the making. We are still taking suggestions for programming you'd like to see, so please do send me your wish list. We still need a volunteer to run the video room; I will provide the electronics, but we need someone to come up with a program, and perhaps some favorite selections from their video collection. Note for our out-of-town guests: the hotel has a deal with Super Shuttle; only $9 per person from the airport to the hotel ($20 by taxi!). Don't forget to check out our hotel during the Thanksgiving feast, 1:00 - 4:00 pm on November 27th (call Maynard to coordinate your pot luck side dish at 232-2625). Just a quick note; we are arranging the following tastings: wine, chocolate, and hot sauce! If you have something to contribute to any of the above categories, please bring your favorites to the RG to savor and share. Until next month...Bill Rouse.
