The Phull Mensa, Phoenix Phiesta XX, approaches. Leigh and her capable team are continuing to line up exciting speakers, planning an unbelievable Hospitality Room, and in general wearing themselves out in an attempt to create a good time for you. Leigh is trying to make this RG family-friendly, with activities suitable for kids (and those that aren’t, clearly marked as such).
Registration will include dinner Friday, lunch and dinner Saturday, lunch and dinner Sunday, and brunch Monday. WOW! And if you stay at the Days Inn, you’ll get a continental breakfast every morning with your room!!! This means you might not have to put out a nickel for food for the whole weekend – such a deal!
Speakers include the keynote, Steve Benson; Sheriff Joe Arpaio; Dmitri Drobachevsky; Jim Delatoso will speak on the "mysterious lights" seen over Phoenix; Robert Moore, on "releasing the stresses we store in our body"; psychics at the Saturday night dance (which includes a live band); Roy McAlister will speak on hydrogen fuel uses; Bob Cox on the straw house he built in Sierra Vista; Liberty Wildlife (live birds); a Rolfing demonstration; Bert and Nadine; a computer instructor; a family joke contest, a limerick contest, and dozens of other things.
If there’s a specific speaker you’d like to hear, an activity you’d like to have, or if you have a talent or special knowledge you’d be willing to share, call Leigh at 264-9321. There’s still time to add things, and this is an RG for you!
A reminder, too: if you’ve seen a movie you want to review, send your review to Susan Sackett and she’ll include it in her page. (Last month’s review of Rush Hour was by Yours Truly.)
We’ve got a bunch of new writers, so let me know how you like them! And Kebba will return next month with her wonderful advice on stress-free living, so watch for that.
In the meantime, have a safe and wonderful Holiday Season, whether you celebrate Channukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, or the Solstice. Or all of them. Or none.
