A big thank-you to everybody who helped put out MAAM last month, especially Carol the Calendar Goddess. She did a great job (applause, everyone!!!).
Remember that FSM now falls on the 23rd of each month, regardless of the day of the week. This month it will be back on Thursday; next month it will be Saturday afternoon. Deadline remains the 13th of each month. FSM gives you a chance to meet new people, eat free food (no Owl to contribute to!), and read MAAM before anybody else does. The work isn’t difficult and we usually chase everybody out by 9:30 or so. You are free to leave whenever you wish; Calvin and I finish the final count and mailbag everything. So attend!
Mensa Games Gathering is coming up fast. You’ve got until the end of this month to register at the reduced price ($45/person). For those of you in Phoenix, drive by the Phoenix Inn and take a look. It’s gorgeous, the management has been most accommodating, and it’s in the heart of the Biltmore area, with restaurants galore – from the least expensive (Fuddruckers, Arby’s) to the fanciest (Osaka and so forth). This is a national event, an opportunity to meet Mensans from around the country and match wits with them, and besides, it contains two of the three favorite occupations of Mensans: food and games.
