Partying: December Parties! |
December finds three old hands at party hosting honing their skills, and we are putty in their capable hands. Our attendance is the manifestation of our appreciation.
John Nangle will host our Soiree on the 5th and he will, in his own article, give us directions to his home.
Jerry Corbin will host our official Christmas party at his home in The Pointe Ahwatukee Resort on the 19th. To get there from the I-10 freeway and Baseline, drive west to the light at 48th Street and left one mile to the 4th stop sign, right on Winston Drive and left on 47th Street to the end, which is Euclid, and his is the second house on the left.
Paul Nowak will again host our New Years Eve party, and he too will write his own article with instructions to reach his home.
On January 2nd, Irin Smith will host a Soiree with a theme of Laughter! She has engaged the services of two comedians who will perform from 9 to 10 p.m., so plan arrive early enough to eat and drink and socialize a little beforehand.
I am eagerly seeking a host of February's Salon on the 16th, since my life is becoming ever more complicated with the approaching Regional Gathering. My telephone number is 264 9321. I would love, in particular, to hear from new members and other people who have never hosted a GPM event. It will not cost the host anything, since the owl (what we call the kitty) covers all basic costs. All members are expected to leave $2 and all lapsed members will please leave $4 for the host. Hosting a party is one of the fastest means by which to integrate oneself into the maelstrom of GPM social life. Once you have been a host, dozens of potential friends will know you by sight, name and location!
All Salons and Soirees begin at 7:30 p.m. unless otherwise stated. The codes in the calendar will fill you in on the details.
