From The Editor

By Stephenie Crowley

Yeah, I know, Carol’s the Calendar Goddess. But we both thought this news was so exciting that it could usurp some of my precious space, because people generally don’t read my column anyway … in which case, why are we putting it here …

Lots of good stuff this month!! I got a great poem from Maynard’s lovely daughter celebrating her new love, and still have some poems left over from Al Scozzari and other contributors that I really want to get in. Then there’s the minutes from the ExCom, a report from the Membership meeting, a funny, funny piece about Hurricane Georges from the editor of La Plume de Nom (New Orleans) that I want to excerpt … the list goes on! I’ll get them all in within the next few months, I swear! Please check the Website for the text of the minutes and report.

The big thing is, of course, the RG. Leigh and Alan, Pat and Carolyn, Gary and Gail, Paul, Jerry, and others too numerous to mention have worked their little Mensan fingers to the bone to make this a real wowser. For only $60 ($65 at the door), you can have a panoply of food for the mind and the body.

And find it in your heart to not only contribute items to the MERF Auction, but to purchase something. Bring books for Project Inkslinger. Smile. Volunteer. Loosen your hearstrings and pursestrings (and the waistband, after all this indulgence!) and join us.

See you there!
