The State of GPM

By Mel Anderson, LocSec

I am writing this just hours after hearing that Bill Rouse was hospitalized for chest pain or seizure. I spoke with him and he seems in good spirits. Bill, if you are reading this, accept our wishes for a speedy and full recovery. Also, and I mean this sincerely, if you start feeling worse please email me your lady friends' phone list.

On a less serious note, I am really getting psyched up about seeing new faces (and some older ones I haven't seen for awhile) at events. Our new SIG maven, Terri Pokash, should help promote even greater attendance. She already got the monthly Bruce Stiles Eagle Eye award for catching a planted typo by Mike Johnson.

This Friday I am off to the AMC meeting in Arlington and am looking forward to seeing the new national digs for the first time. l'm also savoring the chance for some rest, relaxation and fun amidst the business aspect of the trip.

We will be needing a few more volunteers before year end, so if you feel like a little involvement, give me a call and we'll talk. The enjoyment of participation usually outweighs the workload.

Finally, I have no idea of how I could ever adequately thank our illustrious and industrious editor, Stevie, for all of her hard work and dedication. Not for one, not for two, but more like four years of no doubt fielding complaints with nary a "great job, Stevie".

GREAT JOB, STEVIE!
