The State of GPM

By Mel Anderson, LocSec

You're Welcome, MERF

We received a nice thank you letter from MERF for our contribution, proceeds from our auction at the RG. Thank YOU for your generous contributions. Please consider bidding feverishly (even though it is a silent auction) at Pfuture Schlock. A lot of effort is being made to secure top notch items.

GPM's 800 Number

Not phone number, but membership number. We should reach it by next month, thanks in great measure to the work done on National Testing Day by Greg Webster, Ellen Diana and Jerry Corbin (among others).

Let them eat cake . . .

. . . or whatever else is on the table at the Salon (as long as they obey the rules). I agree to disagree with any of you regarding my policy of inviting guests and potential members to try out some of our events. The board has decided to follow up more with folks who take the qualifying exams, and we already have a policy of lapsed members paying an extra $2.00 to attend. So unless a problem arises, I say "the more the merrier".

One down, more to go

Leigh Butler has volunteered to be Scholarship Chair, stepping down from the Salon Chair role. Additionally Scott Kelley has encountered some conflicts and must step aside as Young Ms Chair. Thank you both for your past, and I am sure continued, as time permits, involvement. Besides those posts, a Community Services chair is needed post-haste.

Happy Holidays to you and yours.
