On Saturday, January 23, twelve Prescott area Mensans and their spouses gathered for lunch at the Wood Grill Buffet. The lunch was a result of the membership list included in the January MAAM. I wrote the Prescott and Prescott Valley Mensans to see if there was any interest in local activities. Responses from five or the 13 other members were prompt and positive. Subsequently two others made contact, so a 50% response rate was very encouraging.
The membership includes 16 others within an hour of Prescott, so we hope to see our little band grow with the announcement of future events. The group decided to plan on regularly monthly lunches on the third Saturday at the Wood Grill. The next two lunches will be Feb and March 20 and all Mensans are invited.
Other events of interest are easy hikes of one to two hours in the Prescott area, and theatrical activities: attending plays, concerts and musical productions as a group. Volunteers have agreed to coordinate the activities. We will attempt to have future events listed in MAAM.
