Regional Ramblings

By Bob Cox, RVC Region 9

Last month I failed to give a special mention to William Raley and The Oracle for a Special Mention award in the Publications Recognition Program. Sorry about that. I mentioned last month that there are 107 non-AMC members on AMC committees. I now have the full list of committee members. Only seven are from Region 9. They are: Jackie Abrams (San Diego), Community Service Committee; Steve Balas (Orange County), Development committee; Kebba Buckley (Phoenix), Membership Committee; Richard Schwartz (Phoenix), Mensa Cyberspace Committee, Sali Toda (Hawaii), Publications Committee; Byron Cole (San Diego), Referendum and Elections Committee; and David Felt (Los Angeles), Regional Boundaries Committee.

Many local groups throughout the country now have their own web page. There are even awards for the best of them now. Our region has very few. Is there someone out there who is able and willing to assist all our local groups in setting up their own pages?

It is time to register for the Inland Empire RG. The dates are October 1-3. Write a check for $55.00 made out to I E Mensa RG 99 and send it to Jaye Potter, 8255 Vineyard Ave #100J, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730.

Plans are well under way for a Leadership Development Workshop in February. This weekend is not just for officers but for everyone interest4ed in improving the running of their local group. There is no registration fee and meals are provided. E. Bunny Warsh is coordinating the Workshop. For details, or to let her know that you will be coming, send an LSASE to 6899 Crest Ave., Riverside, CA 92503.

(Also look for the announcement elsewhere in MAAM – Ed.)
