Two important pieces of information this month:
HELP WANTED
It’s Election Season once again in Greater Phoenix Mensa. Because of deadlines, it’s important to start the process now. First and foremost, we need an Election Chair who will oversee the proceedings and keep us honest. Help is available from last year’s Chair, Mel Anderson and the ExCom, so don’t be afraid to get involved.
We also need people who are interested enough in the future of Greater Phoenix Mensa to give an hour or two a month to serve on the ExCom. I promise, you will enjoy your tenure. You get together once a month with some really nice people and decide how to spend some of GPM’s money to further the organization. And yes, you DO have time. I work a full-time job, do the Calendar, serve as LocSec and still have time to spend too much money watching and buying stuff from QVC.
If you enjoy belong to Mensa, please get involved. If you’d be willing to be the Election Chair, please let me know ASAP. If you are interested in running for any position, please call me at 243-0480 and volunteer. I wasn’t sorry I got involved and you won’t be either.
CULTURE QUEST IS COMING
Mensa’s annual trivia contest will be held on Sunday afternoon, April 25. Get 4 of your friends together to organize a team and sign up. I’ve participated in this event for the past few years and it’s always fun. Do I know a lot of the answers? Nope. But I have fun anyway. It’s designed to be challenging and there are questions from every area: arts, movies, books, music, science, math. Something for everyone.
When you get 5 Mensans together, let me know and I’ll send you off a registration form. Your deadline is March 15. Remember this is also a fund-raiser for Greater Phoenix Mensa.
