Mensa National Testing Day 2000 – November 11th.

Once each year Mensa makes a special effort to invite as many prospects as possible to take the Mensa qualifying exam during the Mensa National Testing Day (NTD). In the past years NTD has been a big success at both the national and local level. This year GPM will be promoting NTD at the local level in several different ways. If you know of any good Mensa prospects please enocourage them to contact Greg Webster (our Proctor Coordinator)  at 623-869-8009 to register to take the exam.  You will be doing both them and GPM a favor!

Regional Gathering 2001 is Looking for a Few Good Volunteers!

Elsewhere in this MAAM you can get a taste for the interesting and diverse RG program that is starting to shape up. Although 2001 sounds like a long ways off, January is only a few months away. The yearly RG is by far the most exciting GPM event of the year. Please contact Stevie Crowley or John Seeliger, the RG2001 Co-Chairs, at 602-954-6022 if you want to get involved, make a contribution, and have some fun.

Been to a Mensa Forum Lately?

In case you don’t know it, GPM has had some very interesting Forum speakers.  For example, in October’s Forum, we had an interesting presentation and discussion about Nanotechnology and MEM’s. Surprisingly, it appears that the weird world of extremely small machines may someday have a profound impact on our daily lives.

The Forum program is the best attended monthly event within GPM.  Not only do we get a chance to listen to some interesting speakers, but there is almost always a lively give-and-take discussion afterwards. The post-Forum discussion at a nice local bar/restaurant is the setting for more stimulating social interaction. Don’t forget, if you have ideas for a speaker, please let Stevie Crowley know at 602-954-6022. Come see what you have been missing.
