There is a publication most Mensans do not know exists.  It is called the Interloc.   Any Mensan may subscribe to it.  It is sent automatically to the officers of Mensa.   It gets to the nitty gritties of Mensa in a lot of ways.  A recurring theme that runs through many issues of  Interloc is why people join Mensa.  I have wondered about this a lot over the 25 or so years that I have been a member.  Originally, the reason for me was simple.  I was newly “single again” and Mensa is known for its extremely beautiful women.  I guess beauty and intelligence correlate although I have not seen any studies on this. 

    So why else join Mensa?   Well, our Forums are another good reason.  Our last Forum was probably one of the best marketing presentations I have heard in a long time.  In the course of my career, I have been to many of these.  They don’t come cheap.  Typically they might be on a  weekend and end up setting your company  back several grand.  Yet, here was a marketing workshop that cost the princely sum of a few dollars for some coffee.  Not to mention getting some bags of free Fairytale ® brand  brownies.  I say that is a pretty good deal.  John and Stevie, by the way, are going to provide another such presentation at the RG.  

    When I put the MAAM together I was absolutely blown away at the quality of the presentations that we are going to have at this next RG.  Things absolutely not available anywhere else.  We do have a lot to offer besides beautiful people.  Oh yeah, there are two or three on the matter of finding that one great and wonderful person of your  dreams.  (See page 12.)

     And Mensans are not perfect either.   I apologize for taking up MAAM space to print essentially the same information twice in two issues.  The Post Office noted that the Statement of   Ownership info in the November issue used an old format.   So the new one is presented in this issue.  Sorry about that.
