Here are the nominations for the Publications Recognition Program (Newsletter
and WebPages awards). There were 26 Newsletter Awards and Region 9 newsletters
received 29 nominations in 24 of those categories.
The San Diego Mensan, David Harper Editor, received seven nominations.
In the Presentation Category, one for Artwork and one for Photography; Entertainment.
Theme: Service Membership Roster. Individual Achievement nominations went to
Teri Egenberger for Artwork, Bill Placky for Continuing Item and
Norm Pos for Puzzles and Games.
The Oracle, Orange County Mensa, Linda Kapiloff Editor, received
seven nominations. In the category of Service, one for Membership Roster and
one for Forum. Under Entertainment, one for Poetry and one for Fiction. Individual
Achievement nominations went to Rod Buckley for Essay and Al Wicklund
for Humor.
L.A. Mentary, Greater Los Angeles Area, Mary Kimball Editor received
six nominations. One for Covers, and one for Layout. One for Entertainment,
Puzzles and Games. They received three under the category of Service; Membership
Recognition, Reporting and Forum.
Mind Bets, Southern Nevada Mensa, William Raley Editor, received
four nominations. One
for Poetry and three for individual achievements: Judy Jetter for LocSec
Column, Ann Stewart for Poetry and George Appleton for Fiction.
Much Ado About Mensa, Greater Phoenix Mensa, Stevie Crowley Editor,
received three nominations. One under the category of Service for Calendar,
one under Entertainment and an Individual achievement for Humor to Jason
Grimm.
M-Bassador, Borderline Mensa, Mel Coulter Editor, received two.
One for Covers and Doug Miller received an individual achievement nomination
for Humor.
Inland Empire Mensa Don Beatty and Lynda Kay Editors, received
a nomination for best Editor’s Column.
Our only nomination for Web Sites went to Tucson Mensa, Scott Benjamin
Web Master for Best Use of Links.
Congratulations and best wishes to the nominees. The awards will be presented
at the Annual Gathering, Philly Phrolics, in Philadelphia on July 7.
