Candidate Cameo: Jean Becker

As you read the campaign statements that run in the Bulletin, please notice several things about my background:

The only candidate for Chairman who is current with the issues facing American Mensa today, especially in the crucial international arena

The only candidate elected by the members to a nationwide AMC position

Held a wide variety of Mensa positions with a steady progression of responsibility, working my way up based on my performance in each previous job

In the past two terms as Second and First Vice Chair and Chair, had the opportunity to really get to know the big picture

Participated in moving the National Office to cut costs and improve service

Redrafted Site Selection materials and process to make it easier to local groups to bid to host AGs and AMC meetings

Worked to revive the Colloquium and other intellectual activities

Long term supporter of the Gifted Childrenís program and publication

Coordinated LDW Guidelines, AG  Leadership Development Workshops, and wrote or edited forty-two workshop outlines to support new local group volunteers

Made nationwide contributions to SIGHT, SIGs, and MERF

Created a Life Membership Endowment Plan which will safeguard the fund in perpetuity

I am known as a team player and consensus builder

The best indicator of how someone will perform in the future is how she has served you in the past.   I am offering a clear track record for your consideration.

As you vote this spring, note that American Mensa is growing, financially sound and currently enjoying the highest renewal rate in twenty years.  I am proud to have played a part in making this happen.   I hope you will take the time to vote for me as Chair to keep the momentum going.
