June is election time for Greater Phoenix Mensa. It is the time when the membership elections the officer that will serve on the Executive Committee for the next year. The good news this year is that we have a strong slate of fine candidates running for office. They are good people, the majority of which have not held positions of leadership in GPM. The bad news is that we would like to have fielded more candidates to provide more hotly contested races. Please take a minute or two to vote, The official ballot is located elsewhere in this MAAM.
Party Time!
It is now official! GPM is planning a major membership party for this Fall. The last time we did this the party was held in a downtown Phoenix “Art Space” and it was one of our biggest and best parties ever. If you have any ideas for a party theme or location, please let me or any Ex-Com member know.

Candidate’s Statement
Position: Loc Sec
Candidate: Jerry Corbin
I am running for a second term as Loc Sec of GPM. Last year I promised to attempt to get vital new blood flowing through GPM in the form of greater participation and input from new and/or inactive GPM members. We have only partially successful in this effort. This year this goal is even more critical as GPM gears up to sponsor the 2002 Mensa Annual Gathering. With the support of the general GPM membership and the new Executive Committee, we should make greater strides towards this goal this year. I ask for your support.
