First, off the bat, the decision was made to not put the Membership Directory in this issue, but to defer it to the next. The latest list I could obtain by press time dated back to April first. We have many new members who have either joined since then or reinstated. The timing was bad for this issue, but it will come out in the July issue.
To be very honest there is not much incentive to vote in our upcoming election. All offices are unopposed. Your ballot will not make any difference in the composition of the Board for the coming year. (You cannot write in a candidate, for example.) I tagged onto the Ballot a survey form that I wish you would consider filling out.
Every year, Mensa Newsletters are rated. The MAAM received no nominations as I understand it. To be very honest with you, I could care less what someone on the East or West Coast might think about the MAAM. I am very concerned about what YOU, the member of Greater Phoenix Mensa, thinks about it. Your feedback to me means much more than any National Award. We are going to be the host for the AG next year. I would naturally like to stand up and receive some award. But only if that was because YOU the members of GPM decided that you liked the MAAM. It is a local Newsletter after all.
So, if you wish, take out the time to fill out the ballot and the survey form. Filling out the ballot will tell the new ExCom that you cared enough to take out the time. For the new ExCom, you can tell them what you like about our local Mensa Chapter and what you would like to see improved.
