Editorial

We have a lot going on in December.  I trust all of you will have a good time.

In spite of war, unibombers who mail anthrax rather than explosives, not to mention airliners crashing in residential neighborhoods, there is a time to have fun.  We have several good social get togethers this month that I hope you will consider attending.  We can look at the dark side of life and sometimes think that is all there is.  In this issue I  hope some of the brighter side of life can be presented.  Change is a part of life and I am happy this month to present the article by Kebba Buckley.

Last month we had the unique opportunity to look into the far reaches of the universe.  This month we can look and see whether the positions of the stars affect our daily lives.  Some people are very skeptical that Venus and Mars being roughly 120 degrees from each other at the time of birth particularly means anything.   At that, from a geocentric point of view when the planetary positions are ultimately heliocentric.   I do have to admit, however,  that going over a girl’s horoscope is a great way to spend a date and get to know her better.   Who knows,  maybe there is something to it after all.  But, this is Mensa, where all people have a right to their opinion.  I plan to attend the forum with an open mind.

I hope someone will step forward and take over PTA.  It is a great happy hour group and I want to thank Bill MacIntosh for his efforts in the past to host the event.  I enjoy PTA a lot and hope it will continue to go on.

I also wanted to mention that FSM (where we prepare the MAAM for mailing) is a fun and unique social event.  Please consider coming around to help out.  We are going to try and schedule it in the future at times that will not be as likely to interfere with other activities.

Do have a wonderful and happy holiday season.
