To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to state the obvious.  Greater Phoenix Mensa (GPM) will be hosting the Annual Gathering (AG) in July 2002.  This event is an enormous undertaking. An AG is about 10 times the size of a Regional Gathering (RG).
Recently, we have had to rely on a group of people to be on both the Executive Committee (ExCom) and the Regional Gathering Committee. The overlap between the two groups is not 100%, but it is significant, and somewhat scary.  The people who are elected to the ExCom this year will be running GPM up
to the very start of the AG.  The people who are on the AG Committee will have their hands full this coming year preparing for the AG.  We have an acute need to have some new people volunteer to be on the ExCom this coming year.
    Now that I have stated the obvious, I would like to make the obvious request of the membership to get involved and run for a position on the ExCom this time around. We need you.
