Excom Minutes

Present:  Jerry Corbin, LocSec, Mel Anderson, Past Loc Sec, Glenn Case, Newsletter Editor, Carolyn Robinson, Mike Johnson, John Seeliger, Members-at-Large, M. Stephenie Crowley, Assistant LocSec.  Guest Bruce Stiles.

As both Recording Secretary and Treasurer were absent, Stephenie was pressed into service as Taker-of-Minutes.

Jerry reported that a Membership Chair is now urgently needed, as Carolyn is unable continue to send out information.

Jerry also reported that it appears the RG only lost about $250 this year.  There are some debts still outstanding, and Yvonne Clark will close out remaining debts and report to Laura Oliviera.  There is still approximately $2500 in the RG account.

Carolyn reported that there were 77 people who pre-registered, and 35 walk-ins for the RG.

MAAM was not taken to the post office until March 1 because the Circulation Editor was very ill.

A short discussion followed about sending a newsletter to a departing GPM member on a permanent basis.  Former Editor Stephenie pointed out that the bottom of the inside cover has information on subscriptions for out-of-area people.

LocSec Jerry reported that he, Mel, Bruce, Glenn, Carol Young, and Kebba Buckley attended the Leadership Conference and gained much worthwhile information.  National Mensa has many tools that are very useful, such as manuals and descriptions of the various positions on a local board.

Jerry also reported that the 2002 AG to be held here is in dire need of many volunteers to make it a success, some positions of which will only require a few hours of work.

Good and welfare:  Because both John and Stevie are retiring from Mensa, a new home for FSM is urgently needed.  FSM will be held for the last time at their home in March.  Additionally, because membership ends in April, a temporary Assistant LocSec needs to step in until elections in June.

Respectfully submitted,M. Stephenie Crowley
