This month we start with a Soiree being held at Leigh Butler’s home in Central
Phoenix on December 1 at 7:30 PM. She will be hosting the Soiree for Lynn Stinnett,
a fellow Mensan who has been living out of the country for many years. Those
who know Lynn will enjoy seeing her again. We want to thank Leigh for hosting
this event. Please remember the “Owl” is $2 for members and $3 for guests. Please
see her article on page 7 in this issue.
The next party will be a Holiday Salon on December 15th held at the home of
Pat and Ray Edwards in Tempe, at 934 East Manhattan. Since this is the ”Holiday
Season” please dress up if you wish. There will be a “White Elephant Exchange”,
so please feel free to bring something that you no longer wish to own and wrap
it up, bring it , and see what you will get in return! You do not have to go
out and buy something. In the past, this has been much fun. In addition you
are asked to bring a dish to share and BYOB. Soft drinks will be available.
As usual, guests are welcome, the OWL will be $2, guests $3, first time members
and persons considering membership, need not contribute. Directions to 934 East
Manhattan Street: from Hwy 101, exit at Southern, turn west for 2 miles to
Rural, turn South to La Jolla (1/4 mile ), turn right on Gentilly for 100 yds
(which becomes Manhattan) go to 934 East Manhattan; or from Highway 60, exit
on Rural Road, go North 1/4 mile to right on La Jolla, then right on Gentlly
(which becomes Manhattan), go to 934 East Manhattan. Any questions, please

The New Year’s Eve celebration will be held at Mel Anderson’s home in North
Phoenix, at 10402 North 38th Drive, beginning at 7:00PM. Let’s dress up for
this occasion and celebrate the New Year’s tradition of “Ringing in the New
Year”. Mel will provide the food, beer, wine, soft drinks, and champagne for
toast at midnight. If you would like to drink something special, then please
bring it. The OWL will be $4, guests $5, first time members need not contribute.

go west for about 10 blocks to 38th Drive, then south 3 blocks, the last house
