AG Update

by Carol Young, 2002 AG Chair

As I write this, the terrorist attack on America is only about 30 hours old and I’m still numb.  It’s very hard to work up enthusiasm for anything.  It all seems trivial.  But the way through grief is by putting one foot in front of the other and continuing on with plans and so we continue on with AG plans.  I am hopeful that soon we will begin to approach a degree of normalcy and long before July we will again be ready to join fellow Mensans in 4 days of fun.  Life will be different and our attitudes and views of the world will forever be changed, but we will retain the human capacity of feeling joy and happiness.

Well over 400 people from all over the country (and some foreign countries as well) have registered.  We are approaching the busy time of year, so if you haven’t sent in your registration, do so immediately, before you get caught up in the holidays and the price goes up.  It’s still only $55 for non-stop hospitality, more great sessions than you can ever begin to choose from and a opportunity to relax at a topnotch resort.

Rooms are being snatched up and we have over 550 room nights booked almost one-third of our contracted amount.  We are well on pace to be the biggest AG ever.  We may even be the first AG to “sell out” because we’ve reached the capacity of the site!  So don’t delay, join us all in the annual event of Mensa.  If you go to no other event, go to this one.

There is still time to join in the fun of planning (yes, it’s fun!  no, it’s not overwhelmingly time-consuming).  Call me for details:  602-243-0480
