A quorum of the committee was met.
Also in attendance: Gene Holmerud and Meg Kelleher.
Actions of the committee:
Mel Anderson moved that we offer to reimburse someone for storing the GPM property
starting in July. The motion was amended by Lauri Vickers, who moved that we
offer $10 a month to anyone willing to store the property. Carol Young seconded
and the motion was approved.
Based on a request by Gene Holmerud, Carol Young moved that GPM contribute
$350 to support the Regional Science Bowl, which will be held on March 2 at
Glendale Community College. Mel Anderson seconded and the motion was approved.
Mel Anderson moved that GPM reimburse Eileen Grant $100 for attending the
Leadership Development Workshop in San Jose. Laura Oliveira seconded and the
motion was carried.
Reports:
Larry Vercher reported that GPM has about $8550 in the bank.
Jerry reported that Diana McClure has offered to host the Mensa test in the
back room of her magic shop in Metro Center Mall. She would not charge a fee
for using her shop, so GPM will try holding the test there. Jerry went on to
talk about the importance of recruiting new Ex Com members for the upcoming
term, which begins July 1.
Finally, there was some discussion of the Group of the Year Award and the
Newsletter Award. Carol Young thinks we have a shot at winning the Group of
the Year Award next year since we are hosting the AG. She also said that applying
for the Newsletter Award is very time consuming. Jerry said he would check on
the timing and requirements for the Newsletter Award.
