Acute Angles  - A New Kind of Science

We’re on the threshold of a scientific revolution. The old-fashioned scientific method is far too burdensome and unwieldy for today’s society. It requires painstaking verification of any new hypothesis or discovery, review by other scientists, and results that can be duplicated by others. Any exception to a theory disproves its validity, and means starting all over again. Clearly these requirements do not meet the needs of the modern world. It’s hard to understand how our civilization got this far with such an antiquated and restrictive scientific method.

The repeated sightings of UFOs verify that there are sources of energy and methods of propulsion far beyond our present capabilities. These can only be uncovered with a new approach to science and invention which avoids the old restrictive limitations. The new science recognizes the importance of anecdotal evidence and its value in demonstrating the validity of a hypothesis, and that exceptions do not necessarily invalidate a theory if there is a preponderance of evidence in its favor. Innovative thinking is much easier if it is not subject to strict standards of proof. Fortunately, there is a large community of new scientists who refuse to let themselves be bound by the old rules and conventions, and the list of advances made possible by the new science is impressive.

Two University of Utah chemists have developed cold fusion, a method of obtaining nuclear energy by means of a simple electrolytic process to induce fusion between deuterium (heavy hydrogen) nuclei in a solution of heavy water. They avoided the normal process of consultation with colleagues and publication in a scientific journal by announcing their discovery in 1989 at a press conference in Salt Lake City. In the thirteen years since this announcement, nobody has been able to duplicate their results, but eventually cold fusion may become a cheap source of unlimited easily produced energy.

One physicist feels that the energy produced by the original cold fusion experiments is not fusion, but an even more basic process — the transition of the hydrogen atoms into a state below the ground state, a new state in which they become “hydrinos.” This state has not yet been demonstrated experimentally, but investment money has been obtained and a company formed to develop a technique for getting hydrogen below the ground state. The founder of the company says, “It’s the most important discovery of all time…up there with fire.”

There is said to be evidence that during World War II the Germans were working on tapping into the Zero Point Energy Field, a source of infinite power. This is a method of extracting energy from the zero-point vacuum of the universe, therefore the amount of energy available is practically unlimited. At the end of the war, the Soviets and the Americans took over the German research and the scientists who were involved in it, and all further work has been done in complete secrecy.

These are not the only revolutionary new processes under development. For several years Dennis Lee has been touring the country demonstrating his invention of a motor that has an efficiency well over 100%. Using this motor, he can generate great amounts of electricity with a relatively small generator unit. A number of dealerships have been sold, but so far none of his systems is in operation.

In the 1970’s an inventor named Sam Leach built an automobile that used only water as a fuel. Electrolysis was used to separate the water into hydrogen and oxygen, and the hydrogen was used as a fuel to drive the car. Normally it would require more energy to decompose the water than is recovered from the combustion of the hydrogen, but Leach discovered a secret catalyst that makes the electrolysis process so efficient that you get back more energy than you put in. He drove the car across the country to demonstrate it and to obtain investment capital for further development. So far the nature of his catalyst has not been disclosed, his automobile has not been put into production, and no models of it are currently available.

    The new scientists are getting close to the secret of anti-gravity, which has unbelievable possibilities for aviation and for space travel. In 1992 a Russian physicist disclosed he had discovered that objects above a superconducting spinning disk show a two percent loss in weight. If this effect could be scaled up, it would be ideal for launching spacecraft, therefore NASA funded a contract for further development of large superconducting disks. Two large aircraft companies have also funded research on this anti-gravity shielding effect. The results of this work have never been announced.

It’s possible that we have not heard more about these scientific and technological breakthroughs because powerful commercial interests are threatened by these new discoveries and benefit by their suppression. Our government also benefits by keeping them secret to maintain our military supremacy. However, eventually it will all become public knowledge.

None of these new advances would be possible with a science restricted by the old rules of proof and verification. With the methodology of the new science, it may not be long before we discover the secret of perpetual motion.
