Forum: Controversial Speaker Returns

by Mike Johnson

Greater Phoenix Mensa Given Second Chance

Dr. Mitch Gibson, a practicing psychiatrist here in the valley, with impressive credentials, including a (past) membership in Mensa, has kindly agreed to speak to us again. Earlier this year he captivated his large Forum audience with accounts of his original research and conclusions on the subject of astrology. Naturally, several of our more skeptical members took exception to these, but others of us, like cats, were not only impossible to herd, but curious to the core. Our purpose in inviting him back is to allow him to continue speaking on this fascinating subject, picking up where he left off, and answering as many questions as possible.

A few years ago, Mitch was as skeptical about the subject as many of us, but gentleman that he is, he accepted the challenge of a girlfriend to visit a renowned astrologer. To avoid giving any visual signals, he arrived at the appointment on a bicycle, wearing jeans, a tee shirt and no jewelry. The venerable seer told him several true things about himself, some that even the girlfriend didn’t know, plus some predictions that have since transpired. I don’t want to steal his thunder by revealing any more of his strange odyssey, but if you too are curious, come join us on the 9th of August for an exciting mental journey into new territory.
