Forum: Mike Waters on the Pacific

by Leigh Butler

I’ve known Mike for years and he is a very thorough sleuth when working in the field for which I hired him a few years ago, which was for a patent search. I had paid a patent attorney big bucks to check out something that I had designed, but felt unsatisfied with the result. So I paid Mike considerably less for the same search and was thoroughly satisfied with his exhaustive work, which ferreted out every last possibility for me. There was no longer any doubt in my mind as to the hopelessness of bringing my product to market.

Now, that is the kind of man I want at the helm of any sailing ship that I board to sail the seven seas. There are no back-up support systems out there in case of trouble. Since he and our dear Les Rees both came back to us hale and hearty after doing something like that, that just shows to go you that my confidence is not misplaced.

We will be in for an evening of spectacular photos and stories of adventure from one of our own, and I for one can’t wait. As usual, we will meet at 7 p.m. at the Pyle Adult Recreation Center in Tempe, which is on Southern Avenue two driveways west of Rural Road on the south side of the street.

Afterward Mike and Les will be our guests at the “Debriefing” at the Eastside Brewery, which is less than a mile to the east. It is just east of the Sweet Tomatoes Restaurant, which has a very visible red neon sign on the north side of Southern just west of McClintock. If anyone can’t make it to the lecture, he or she is still welcome to join us at the Debriefing, where the food and atmosphere are excellent.
