B-9  RVC Report

by Barbara Lytle, RVC Far West Region

I am sure you have all renewed your membership by now so let me explain that

form that came with your new membership card.   It is the new PDQ (Personal Data Questionnaire) form. Please fill it out - there have been many changes and we want to make sure that only the information you want released is released, and at the same time you do not miss out on any of the opportunities afforded to you through membership.

Privacy has turned into a major “big deal” and the Privacy Task Force has included twenty-two releases where we previously only had nine. You need to decide whether you want your information released to the local group, local group/directory/roster, interested SIGs, and our external release to benefit and service providers. I know it is a pain to plow through it but it is important that your choices be your choices.

The National Nominating Committee is forming, with a representative from each local group. Bob Cox from Borderline Mensa, Tom Streeter from San Diego and Bunny Warsh of Inland Empire have joined the committee. Thanks guys.

Pat Coontz of Inland Empire has been appointed as the Region 9 Proctor Advisor. If your group is having any difficulty finding or training enough proctors or needs advice on test sites or testing in general, she is your resource person. The AMC meeting this month will be devoted to budget (ugh!!). Ever wonder how your dues really get spent? Take a look at the pie chart below.   As you will readily see, much more comes back to the local group in the way of services and expenditures than is readily discernible from the monthly deposits made directly to the local group treasuries.

Cheers Barbara
