Another Orange County Mensa RG, fabulous as always, has come and gone. They missed a golden opportunity to get my money; I was all set to sign up for next year on the spot. These folks sure know how to pick out prizes for the Treasure Chest, and I think everyone got something. Few people showed up at my rap session—I hope this means that all are happy with the representation they receive and have no messages for the AMC.

Another new volunteer on the editor front comes forward. Let’s welcome Robert L. Lee (robert@rllee.com) in Tucson.

With so many members of Region 9 as former editors, we should have a huge pool of prospective judges for the Publications Recognition Program and the Publications Committee. I am sure our Communications Officer, Tyger Gilbert,  would love to hear that you have some time on your hands and that you still want to contribute and have some real experience in this field. Contact him at Communications@us.mensa.org. We will all be glad you did.

Doug Miller, editor of The BOMB, newsletter of Borderline Mensa, pointed out my oversight last month in not announcing the winner of the Isaac Asimov Memorial Wet T-Shirt contest at the AG. Borderline Mensa’s own Megan Cummings was the “big” winner there. Be sure and ask her about it next month while you are at the RG in Sierra Vista, Arizona.

Of course you will be there! Why would you even consider missing an RG that includes a trip to Tombstone to see the Vigilante Gunfighters and have a “Steak-Out”-all included in the price of registration? You will have so much fun that you’ll want to join the group that will travel on to Cooper Canyon the day after the RG. Both the price and the company are unbeatable. Check it all out on their website at http://borderlinemensa.tripod.com.

Speaking of local group websites, Jan Reed in Harbor Area Mensa should have one up and running by the time you see this. It is full of color and everything moves. I expect to see this one on the list of nominations for next year’s website awards.

Are you going to be in Nebraska this month? I will be there for the quarterly AMC meeting. The local group is putting on an RG, so if the meeting gets too long for you, go participate in the RG and rub it in that you can leavethe room and I can’t.
